Virgin Atlantic Airbus A340-642 Landing at Sydney

An unexpected decision to take the inland approach made for a much more interesting landing, with low cloud cover and wing condensation to add to the mix. Either way, a nice touch to end my string of uploads; I probably won't be uploading until the end of next year.

@FrozenFlame333 that is the case when planes are required to land before 6am (end of curfew) even though the wind is coming from the south. what runway they use depends on wind direction and speed. At the moment the wind is at 180 degrees (south) so 16L/R are in use. Before 6am however to avoid residential areas 34L is usaually in use no matter where the wind is. Pilots are told to beware of tailwind but if the wind is too strong then they just use 16L/R. :)

@fsxpilot21 Usually we land on 34L coming in over the ocean, as airliners are required to avoid residential areas when it's early to comply with noise reduction policy (correct me if I'm wrong).
