Ser# 155436 makes a gear up landing after one release cable is shot out making it impossible to lower all 3 landing gears. Pilot does a great job saving the airplane.
@AirborneOptics Google aeroflights Columbian Police Aircraft Types. You can see #144436 was delivered in 02 and was in use. Dosn't list the date it was retired, but it didn't hit the museum until 08.
@dumbenoughou812 Type in "bronco 155436" in Google seach. The first hit should be "Former DOS Bronco fleet on the move". Full details are given there. I can give you the exact URL but YT wont let me. These were owned by the US State Department and operated by the contractor DynCorp. They flew unarmed, usually escorted by Columbian Huey or Blackhawk gunships.
@dumbenoughou812 Plus it's still being used by various American agencies and South American militaries. For example, CALFIRE uses a couple dozen of them. I can usually see 2-3 of them right down the road at San Bernradino INTL all summer long. Boeing has already made it public that they are revamping the aircraft and are calling it the OV-10X, and they're going to produce it whether the US military wants it or not.
@AirborneOptics Why do you think these are American birds? The Marines gave the Colombians 13 D+'s back in the 90's, and the Colombians have been using and upgrading them since then.
This is an American aircraft.... not Columbian. They are flown by the Department of state. They are fitted with spraying gear and advanced FLIR imagers and fly out of Titusville Florida on antinarcotics missions in Columbia. This aircraft is now retired and lives at the Russell Military Museum in Zion, Illinios.
