ePSXe 1.7.0 Updated Tutorial

First:
Download WinRar :
http://download.cnet.com/WinRAR-32-bit/3000-2250_4-10007677.html
Install WinRar.

Second:
Download Kiki099's zip file of ePSXe:
http://www.box.net/shared/3v3izqt21v
Create a new folder, name it what you will, then extract the epsxe zipfile into that folder.

Third:
Download a game: http://doperoms.com/roms/Sony_Playstation_Psx.html
When finished, open the zip file and extract the largest file to your desk top.
Open that zipfile up, and drag the date.bin.ecm file to your desktop.

Fourth: download ecm tools:
http://www.emuparadise.org/PSX/ecm%20tools.rar
Open the zipfile, and drag out the unecm.exe file to your desktop.
Drag the date.bin.ecm file into the unecm file, and a black box should pop us and should say it is decoding the file.

You are then left with a new file that is a .bin file

Open up your folder with the epsxe emulator
DO NOT USE THE EMULATOR THAT YOU EXTRACTED.
Instead, open up the epsxe170 zipfile, and double click the epsxe170 file to run the emulator.

Run the config wizard one more time to check if everything is set.
Then go to file, RUN ISO, then look for the new .bin file on ur desktop.
Voila... it should run haha.

I have tried a few different approaches to this, and yours is by far the best. I love Descent Max and it is better than the system.

I hope I will figure this out myself, but do you need to do all the steps for each game? After play DM for a while I notice my kikki099 was gone so I am unzipping it again for another game. Thanks for your time.

There is no need to redo all the steps every time you use the emulator. The only steps you need to follow are the ones for new games that you have downloaded (unecm'ing the bin files). Not sure exactly why Kiki099's file would disappear after use. My only advice would to just keep everything in the same folder on your desktop or where every you prefer so you can keep everything together.

is it me or is it that some games just cant be played like for e.g Final fantasy 9?? you see when I play the file there is only a blank screen, and it hangs like that for...3mins....5mins.......10m­ins was the longest i waited. so what im trying to ask is that whether it's a problem with the file or just my emulator not working? cause ive tried on both psxfin and epsxe, both failed me :(

@WAFIYMAHADI Yeah, i have run into games that just dont seem to work. Most likely it is the game itself when it was converted into a rom file. Or it could be very well the emulator. This version of epsxe does have its fair share of bugs, it is still far from perfect. Sorry about that :(

@ashwolf2006 I really dont have an answer for that. It might be a hardware problem, and if you have an awesome pc im sorry if i have offended you haha. ummmmm, as far as speeding up the game, by increasing rate of motion, there does not seem to be an option to do so. sorry :(
