The constitution protects us against totalitarianism with the statement that all laws should be secular and no law can be passed to promote or inhibit religion. That gives christians their rights without infringing on the rights of others. If you want more than that then you are being a totalitarian. Christians submit to one central control figure. If you want to do that then you should have the right to, but don't forcibly impose it on others. That is a violation of the rights of others.

Just because there is a minority, that doesn't mean they are wrong.

At least Huckabee knew that the Constitution in't ALREADY Christianity-based, unlike so many of his followers in this thread, and also unlike Ron "Champion of the Constitution" Paul who wrote in December, 2003 that the Constitution is "REPLETE WITH references to God."

"And I don't have to apologize to anybody...
Our Creator...read the Constitution."

I did. It doesn't mention God (except in the use of the formal dating system accepted at the time of spelling out the English translation of "Anno Domini" for years), nor the Creator, at all.

Were you perhaps thinking of the Declaration of Independence? It does mention "their Creator" and "Nature's God," but both were Deist euphemisms at the time.

Actually, the Bible doesn't support the assertion that unborn babies should be considered persons with souls.

SEVEN TIMES in Numbers Chapter 3 ALONE, and at least one other time in Numbers, God flatly states that persons under the age of ONE MONTH •AFTER• BIRTH are NOT COUNTED as persons!

In Leviticus, He even gives a MONETARY value for persons based on age and gender. For EITHER gender, under age 1 month, the value is NONE. ZERO. NADA. ZILCH.

Even if that were true (and it's a biased survey that resulted in that statistic), that's still 13% that do not believe in God. That's a bigger minority than Blacks!

Our system of government is NOT a democracy. It's a REPUBLIC which was SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED to prevent the majority from ruling absolutely. Among the very first words in the Declaration (past the opening) is the declaration that we're based on RIGHTS. You cannot have Rights in a Democracy, nor vice-versa.
