My Take,
My take on cleaning out the fan of a HP DV7 Laptop. Bare to the Bone.

Bought brand new, So far this lap top have been good still running great. It is 2 yeas old. The only complaint about this machine is the screen is not brite enough out side.

I would like to buy a DV8T but they stop making them. Why?

  • hey man how you take out the screen, the side with one big and short wire is sticking to the motherboard. i tried to lift up or pull from the side but doesnt seem to be useful, i didnt force it tho.

  • @godkazehaya

The two wires under the sticker In my video? I think it was a pull plug all wires and ribbons connection were pull wisp rocking. There might be a lock clip that with a little flat screwdriver to lift up then pull.

  • what program do you use to make that robotic voice thing?

  • @TheEliasMontalvo

I used microsoft word text to speech, speech recognition program. It is a basic program in microsoft word.

  • what kind of engineering requires to take off the screws for cleaning "just" a fan ?? and regarding that annoying overheating problem...im never buying an hp laptop anymore like millions of victims

  • @taZDuke

I blow It out with compressed air often Just took it apart the second time but do not need to take it all apart like I did in video. 30 min and back together just to check if any dust build up on motherboard. This is still a great lap top, does run a little hot when I work it hard but so do woman.

  • great video, help me to clean my laptop and now quiet =)

  • I HAVE MY 3RD LAPTOP FROM HP, ALL OF THEM HAVE THIS SHIT PROBLEM. ALL BURNED DOWN EITHER THE MOTHERBOARD WAS FRIED, OR THE FAN COULDNT HANDLE THE HEAT ANYMORE AND THE WHOLE THING MELTED DUE TO OVERHEAT.

THERE ARE ALSO HP SERVICES RUNNING THAT MAKE THE PROCESSOR PEAK ALL THE TIME. ITS CRAP! I THINK I DESERVE AT LEAST 1 FREE LAPTOP FROM HP.

IF HP THINKS ABOUT NEXT MODEL: MAKE A EASY ACCESS HOLE TO THE FAN FROM OUTSIDE!!! SO NORMAL USERS CAN CLEAN IT!!!

  • i need to get to the fan, but this vid left me unsure of how to do that. do i have to take off the entire back panel to get to the fan?

  • Hi, I got it apart as far as you went but I want to replace the fan, I found a company in the UK that sells them although I;m in US what is keeping it in? haaha I can't see whats holding it is the bottom black plastic cover suppose to come off too? I do have the HP DV7-3160 US

  • This is bullshit, hp sucks

  • What is the point of disguising your voice? It only makes this video difficult to follow - therefore fairly unhelpful. NEXT!

  • The voice is really bugging me more than the sound of my HP laptop fan
