Ah Xkaboom why would you try water, your in sciences you should know not to put a chemical fire out with water

"hot" candle would be more correct. Because it is lit and the wax and turned to a liquid, the interaction observed is similar to the interaction between water and hot cooking oil.

It definitely is water. This actually happened to me accidentally. what I did was I put some matches in the candle, so it had like 6-8 sources of flame, and I was trying to blow it out, but I couldn't, so I thought I put some water on there. and this happened.....I filmed this later, in a more "controlled" environment.
