When a kapalika tried to kill Adi Sankaracharya, then lord Lakshmi Narasimha entered Padmapada and killed the kapalika. Then sankara praised lord lakshmi narasimha to pacify angry lord or ugra narasimha.
Recitation and listening gives peace and bliss .

  • Nice video. However, the context when these stotras were rendered by Shankaracharya was different. These were rendered when Shankaracharya was in his para kaya pravesham of a king's body to learn the art of kamasutra. King's people try to burn his original body which was in a burrow and it is at this time that he prays to Lord Narasimha to save him (asking him to lend his helping hand..Mama dehi karavalambam). The entire bhavam of the stotras clearly indicate the context.
