Bad regulator? Motor seems to work but as you see it keeps clicking an hanging up.

EDIT - $10 fix. Used #74410 Window motor bushings from the Help! section at Kragen to fix the motor. Works like new now and took all of 45 minutes to install. an 8mm socket and a phillips screwdriver is all you really need.

  • instead of buying the bushing kit witch is 3 round plugs i packed it full of jb weld and have been using it since 09.Tthe plugs are going to fail just like they did when they put them in the motor.

  • @sixt9coug me again, i took out the motor and regulator and i saw that the motor was working so i put everything back greased on and now it goes up and down but it gets stuck like yours and the window gets scratched by the metal guides on both sides. ima put up a vid to show you

  • @sixt9coug thanks for the advice , ima try that

  • @vsk909 When you have time, Take the door panel off, pull out the speaker and unbolt the motor. (it's right there) and then pull the motor out. With the motor out, CAREFULLY move the glass up and down. If the glass moves without the window in there (it should) then the regulator is probably fine. Make sure it's not hanging up or anything.

I bet it's the motor. The regulators are rivited in. It's easier to change the motor first to check it out, motors are cheaper, and more prone to being bad.

  • @sixt9coug driver side, you dont think it might be the regulator?

  • @sixt9coug driver side

  • @vsk909 If you can't roll the window up by hand that tells me that the bushings are probably good. The glass would probably pull up by hand otherwise, because the motor gears wouldn't be able to hold the glass in place.

If you are hearing it click, then it sounds like the switch is working. It sounds like power is getting to the motor.

But it's not moving. That leads me to believe the window motor is bad. No guarantee of course, but that's what it sounds like to me. Driver or pass window?

  • @sixt9coug i hear a click sound everytime i press the button.

could it the window regulator, because i try to push the window up by hand and it wont go up at all
