It is not unusual at all for a dictator to attack his ideological rivals. The Hitler did not want competing factions, even if they had similar goals to his.

mizilus: Do your homework before you spout any more. You may be surprised to learn that "conventional wisdom" has it wrong. Mussolini, Hitler, the people that pop into your head when you think "Fascists"... yeah, they were complete liberals/progressives. The Nazi party was the National Socialist German Workers Party. That doesn't sound very right-wing does it?
