This video shows my Intex salt water pool setup. It starts with the pump, then shows the chlorine generator then moves around to show the timer I purchased at Lowes to run the pump. I uploaded this video to add to the review I am posting at Wal-Mart where I purchased the chlorine generator from.

  • I have a salt water system 16/48 pool by intex. This pool is great when you get it down. The filter just is not big enough to clean all the bacteria that accumulates in

The pool after a big swim day. I have opted to change my filter pump to a Hayward self-priming machine. This pump has much more power and suction than this cheap ass filter that intex provides with their pool. You literally have to change the filter every week, or clean it off with hose. It just doesn't filter the pool adequatel

  • i took my salt gen back. it had to run like 10 hours just to make a pint of salt clorine . So now i just add a little clorox every other day. perfect!

  • @cdnsweetiepie1 does your chlorine generator have a read out on the top? Mine has indicators that tell me if the salt is too high or too low. I use the test strips as well but once I get the pool up and running, I will only use the strips after a good storm. A couple of times the alarm went off of the generator that said my salt was too high at that point all I needed to do was drain some water from the pool then add fresh water back in.

  • @GoMetricToday How do you know when to add more salt? I have had mine for just over a month now and my test strip indicated that the alkaline is high..not sure what to do??? HELP

  • I am on my second year of having my Intex salt water chlorinator. So far not a single problem. and my pool is nice and clear.

  • can u use this for salt water fsih if u wanna make a pond?

  • Unfortunately, I have not had the same luck with my Intex chlorinator. I purchased it in the summer of 2009. The first one I had worked for about a month. During that month, it worked fine. The power supply went out (I'm assuming - the unit would intermittently go off and not come back on). After Intex replaced the first unit, the second unit worked great for the rest. of that season. It remained in storage for 2010 - I recently set it up and again, it doesn't work. Completely unacceptable.

  • Pool costs $250, pump+generator costs another $250. Definately an investment and it's safer than concentrated chemicals.

  • i LOVE my intex saltwater system. I went on vacation for 10 days and i turned off my intex filter. i came back. the water was very cloudy and disgusting. I turned on my saltwater system and within an hour it was back to being clean and sparkly!

  • can you use it for 10ft pools or not ??
