An angelic friend of mine just created a video. Let me share it with his story, because I am so moved by his words.

"I hope these words find you all well, happy, and as excited as ever about
Christmas.... wherever and with whomever you'll be spending it. My
Christmas has already been made beautifully and inspiringly memorable
because of a little girl... a patient in our Paediatric Oncology (Cancer)
ward.

I've been leading a group of 5 other students in singing for paediatric
patients in different wards and hospitals over the last two days. It was
after we had finished singing for a group of children and their parents in
the corridor of the cancer ward...that I noticed a young lady, standing by
the door way of one of the rooms further down the hall waving to me to
come to her. I gestured to my colleagues to follow me as I went to her.

She invited us inside the room... When we went inside... I immediately
recognised a young girl I'd seen from a year earlier (Dec 2006) when we
had our rotation there. And like the year before...she could not walk
because the right side of her body is paralysed from the neck down by her
"condition" ....

... but the reason her mother wanted us to come in was because she - the
little girl, had wanted to say "thank you" to us... even though she'd only
heard our singing from her bed ...hooked to her iv-lines... wearing an
oxygen mask !!! We then decided to sing "Jingle Bells" and "We Wish U a
Merry Christmas" for her. And as we sang... she proceeded to turning her
head... from side-to-side on her pillows.... waving her left arms up and
down... AND her legs - likewise... all in rhythm to the music !!!

I can see our female colleagues fighting back the tears at the sight of
this amazing child. It was enough to make me cry as well... and I would
have... had I not been held mesmerised by the muffled sounds of trickling
laughter filtering out in spurts from beneath her oxygen mask .... the
vibrant life in her soft, gentle eyes... and the big grin on her face...

... This little child had given me - and I think all my friends as well, a
powerful lesson in the strength and beauty of the human spirit. To be
honest... during those moments... I lost the awareness of her disease...
the knowledge of her age... the sight of her debilitated body... And saw
ONLY a beautiful, vibrant, loving, caring and pure spirit .... I have
already received a Christmas present that no money can by... I really
wish you could have experienced it too...

Wesołych Świąt i Szczęśliwego Nowego Roku !! (Merry Christmas & Happy New
Year!! :)
