Really great tips - though I have never been that worried about doing video weirdly. I do pretend I'm talking to the mirror actually - talking to myself - maybe I'm going a little crazy lol

@LouiseEdington LOL! That's not crazy. I view it as mirror work. People do this when they are practicing their speech to talk to a room full of people. Totally normal :)

Great piece, Alara. Thank you for it! Especially now as I intend to do a regular vlogs along with my writing along with using webinar's to work with groups.
I am going to print out your tips and hold them near to me until I really integrate them in my practice. And practice is part of it, isn't it? Not as in rehearsal, but as in making it a practice to explore and video myself regularly, playing with backgrounds and height and lighting. Playing.

@darkeroskprophet Yes, it's just about rehearsing and having fun with it. Allow yourself to be YOU. Be silly, be shy, be whatever is you. And yes totally play play play. This is the best part.

I got a lot out of the video. First of all, it was very simple. You gave us tips and handy takeaways, which will help me with future videos.
1. Pretending you are talking to a friend alleviates the stress. Good point!
2. I like the idea of NOT writing a script. You can tell when I'm reading a script on video - it's stifled and there's no eye contact. I will use your advice going forward.
3. State problem, solution, call to action. Perfect takeaway.

Thank you so much! I’m so glad you found this video so helpful. I definitely hear you about writing a script. I tried this when I first started and I sounded so robotic and fake. When I just started to babble at first in my unseen videos then I realized what worked for me. I look forward to seeing your video and the videos to come.
