  • Don Johnson was a personal friend of mine. Before he passed away, he was attempting to get copies of his TV victories. Do you have anymore appearences? Does anyone else? He was a great guy! Thanks.

  • Good god almighty they gave him a muffler trophy

  • This was the pinnacle of the bowling era. Since this time it is absolutely shameful what the USBC has approved to decimate the sport of gentlemen.

  • Two of the all-time great bowlers, and both fine gentlemen. They don't come much better than Don Johnson and Earl Anthony. RIP Earl and Don. You are both sorely missed.

  • @deesyphrr About a year before -- Earl had his heart attack in '78

  • Two class acts in competiton. Thank you for posting this.

  • rofl. don johnson looks like a freaking zombie and why the fuck dosn't the 1 ceed ever ever ever ever win;.

  • earl is so smooth

  • Its apparent that Don Johnson was going for perfect high packed in strikes taking advantage of his super accuracy.

  • Was this the year of Earl's heart attack?

  • I never saw Don Johnson bowl at Play Bowl Lanes, but I'm a big fan of his! I walked around the foudation of Play Bowl Lanes last weekend and I could visualize what the 24 lane bowling house use to look like back in the earlly 1970's. I was a rug-rat back then and I bowled a youth league there as well. I bought the Don Johnson bowling instructional videos in the 1990's and the knowege I took from them raised my bowling average 20 pins per game. Both Don and Earl were SUPER TALENTED!
