  • Yeah we artists are the criminally insane.

  • guys, the pinned moths and the butterfly gesture thing is sybolical, as the title... lift... it's a song about society's intolerance and fright towards dreamers, the ones who want to go a step beyond, the ones who crave spiritual freedom ;)

  • Just pause the vid where the woman writes down their evaluation and makes crosses at the bottom of the paper.

Diagnosis: a) schizophrenia; b) dilusional parasitosis; c) dissociative identity

crosses at the bottom, evaluation final: illusionist; dreamer and menace to society.

this shows that someone who doesn't think and see things conform to the mainstream, is considered mad

  • @GeddoeBlake I agree, the video to me is a how should I say it? Example of how intolerant society is of things that arent considered "Normal". People get shunned/pushed away every day just because they do things that arent "normal". Although in a society that is so fucked up these days, who the hell has any right to decide whats normal and whats not these days?

  • @GeddoeBlake I guess I got the serial killer part from his huge collection, and possibly tortured victims by pinning them to mounts (like moths and butterflies) or sewn wings on his victims. Obviously, he has an affinity for moths and butterflies, heck, maybe he kidnapped women to compare the beauty of humans and his winged creatures, who knows?! The video is ambiguous enough for people to enjoy their own interpretations, I think you and I can mutually appreciate that :)

  • @GeddoeBlake In my opinion, he's being considered crazy because of that affinity towards moths and butterflies, which is, I must admit, quite a lame reason to consider someone as utterly mad, but it might mean that you can be convicted and seen by others as mad simply for having some passion about things which the masses aren't into : it might condemn the lack of tolerance our society shows. Oh well, I don't really know, but I don't think he's a killer.

  • @TheSmartSheep I feel the same about the song and especially the video, except for the "serial killer" part. Alright, he's got a huge affinity for moths and sorta butterflies of all kinds, but what makes you think he's a killer ? That mere photograph of that woman with the sort of wing patterns isn't enough to conclude he ever killed someone, though that would explain why he's a convict and being examined. I'm not quite convinced about that.

  • Interpretation: The storyline is the woman and the convict, a crazy serial killer with an affinity for moths, had a past, serious relationship, and she is in charge of letting him free or lock him up. She wants to free him, but she can't by law. She is the reason and rationality of the head in love, and the man is the emotion and feeling of the heart in love. The two figuratives ideas when one is in love will go against each other until one wins.

  • amazing riff, amazing vocals, beautiful woman, perfect video and song. addicted to this song

  • Now this is music. If this band is recent, then it is the best recent band I have listened to in a long time... Instead of listening to a lot of stuff from the nineties. Nothing wrong with the nineties mind you.
