  • @6stringdaveyM Who cares whether are not most women like our music. Hell, I know a lot of women that get off to Kurt. I know some female players that are as burning as he is. Not all the ladies have left the joint. In fact, a lot of them are getting in the joint, hopping up on the bandstand and playing some really sick shit. Men are the ones that fall into the media's advertising pitfalls more. Why do you think beer commercials always feature attractive women and sports?

  • @6stringdaveyM . Who gives a sh##t! Women... only listen to crap...to move their ass. If you wanna get laid...don´t use real music for it...okay?

  • @electropower58 ... I've been to Adam Rogers and Jonathan Krisberg gigs in NYC a couple of years back, both of them had hot asian girlfriends in attendance.

  • @neb22

    derp

  • @atavismnocturn I voted you down only because I really dislike statements like this. I think this /right now/ about Kurt Rosenwinkel, but last year I had a different favorite guitarist. This whole "best" or "most" or our "generation" or "time" or something is just ridiculous.

  • dude, thats jorge rossy on drums! yea!

  • I agree about the chicks thing. I don't care what kind of music it is I always look to see if it draws an equal number women and men. Unfortunately so called "jazz" is falling into the heavy metal, fusion, hard rock and most of the time electric blues zone. In other words "dudes" getting off on "dudes" music. Unfortunately us guitar players are too testosterone driven to notice that the ladies have left the joint. Get them to move their ass and the rest will follow.

  • My first impression of Kurt many years ago was another Pat Martino knock off. But over the years he has developed into a fine player of his own. In his first records his solos were very honest not technical. His newest performances are very heady and seem deliberate not spontaneous. I am sure he is making headway and we will observe wonderfully creative music from him as he matures throughout his life. I am looking forward to his music 5 years from now.

  • OK, so does that mean Stevie Wonder and Bill Withers and Al Green are Jazz musicians? Most of their songs have ii V I 's. Jazz is a language...its NOT about technical abilities, its about a vocabulary. Most people cant understand or speak it, so people think its nonsense or "self indulgent". I dont think you should "die" anymore but you should listen to John Coltrane.

  • Well..."jazzer" is obviously a coined word that illustrates/catagorizes a certain type of musician.

Although respected for their technical abilities, jazzers are most often seen as self indulgent musicians...

As for Jamiroquai, they have performed at jazz festivals around the world. You'll find chord patterns (II, V7, I's...as well as many chord substitutions) that you'll not usually find in pop music.

Listen to: Time Won't Wait, or Starchild

...no need for anyone to die;)
