  • An absolute masterpiece. The rhythm section is as tight as it gets. Bobby Bland is the essence of relaxed intensity.

  • You'd think this great song would get a lot more views and comments,

  • Great version - it sure is real music.

Having said this, the Dead's version from 'Live/Dead' is unbeatable. Followed by the 33-minute marathon version featuring the Allman Brothers Band, from the Fillmore East, 1970 - before Duane and Berry made the angels their audience.

  • coolness factor: off the hizzy

  • great

  • You kidding--this is the definition of SOUL==whenst my boys The Good Ole Grateful Dead stole this from (and always gave him credit). I have listened to this cut hundreds of times, but with the lack of comments had to make one.

  • Wow I was a freshman in high school this takes me back to some great memories

  • As good as it gets! Love everything Bobby Blue Bland does! Benn a long time since I heard this.

  • @hippieinmississippi The Dead are the reason I even discovered the song! And in turn, people like Bobby Blue Bland had a HUGE part in making the Dead that unique band they are. Both versions are brilliant!!

  • i feel alright.. mmmm nice

  • @PetersonMicheleM hey dont knock on the Dead man. theyre the reason i'm here listening to this great song.

  • I could listen to Bobby Blue Bland 24/7. I was seven years old when I first heard Further on Up the Road. I sang all the lyrics not having a clue as to what the song was about. I was smitten then, and I am STILL a huge fan.
