  • Im a women, even though i dont agree women should be elders, I think us wome have enough on our plate already. I mean, imagine trying to baptise someone while pregnant and doing the sacrememnt? Personally i couldnt deal with it all.

  • @Fridderz

Well some women feel that it's sexist for only men to be in the priesthood, also you don't HAVE to baptize someone, if your pregnant, all you have to do is say that your unable, just like a job, you also can get a kind of ''time off''.

  • what is this? woman ordained an elder??!! what in the world??!!

  • Read my comments. It is sad you would leave thinking that the LDS church treats women poorly - this is not true and you know it. YOU left because of pride - like in the New Testament when a man wanted to purchase the power of God - you wanted something you could not have. The Lord gives to us what HE thnks is right for us..we need to SUBMIT ourselves beofre the LORD and follow HIS counsel - not our own - that is when apostacy happens - come back to the TRUTH.

  • Wow! The same old arguments and rantings and ravings about who's right and who's wrong and bicker bicker bicker. Why I have no association with any kind of organized church nor religion. Follow the path that is right for you and just like Mrs Rabbit said to Thumper, "If you can't say something nice, don't say nothing at all".

  • @05lowell Polygamy never was a part of the Church! Any polygamy that members in the very early church practiced was illicit. Section 111 of the Doctrine & Covenants adopted August 17, 1835 clearly prohibits polygamy. After Brigham Young founded his church in Utah in 1847 he removed section 111 and replaced it with LDS Section 132 proclaiming Plural Marriage. The LDS doesn't stick to what they claim to believe. They say they believe in P. M. but won't let anyone practice it.

  • @05lowell Hogwash! Polygamy (Plural Marriage) was added to the Utah LDS Doctrine & Covenants after they were in Utah for some years.

Section 111 of the CoC D&C adopted by the Church Assembly August 17, 1835 allows for only one spouce in church law. The LDS Church removed this section when they adopted Plural Marriage.

  • This is a beautiful and wonderful Church. I know that the day would have come (probably by the 1860's) had Joseph Smith, Jr. the prophet would have lived that he would have given the priesthood to women. He was already close to that place with the Annointed Quorum in Nauvoo.
