The Complete Pomeg Glitch (Pokémon Emerald)

This video shows the effects of the Pokémon Emerald-exclusive glitch involving the Pomeg Berry. It only works in Emerald since in the other generation 3 games, it didn't have the effect of lowering base HP. Anywhoo, you can use it to "lower" a Pokémon's HP to the maximum (if that makes no sense, watch the video), fight with fainted Pokémon, and battle with Eggs. Fun stuff. All of this can be done without any cheating device.
**I am aware that there are some lingering effects from ROM patches I have used; this copy of the game has been extensively ActionReplayed (yeah that's a verb now), but I guarantee that they have NO EFFECT on the glitch!!

Forgive me, but I still don't get it. If you glitch the egg to battle while your other pokemon is fainted, can you equip certain items to that egg, for example, the Exp Share, or is it still treated as a egg outside of battle?
