The UK-built Weber 'Pianola' again. This time James P. Johnson's version of the 1927 hit - 'Sugar'. Interesting to compare this with the two organ versions recorded in the same year by Johnson's famous pupil - Fats Waller. Hope you enjoy.

  • "Sugah, Sugah, I call my baby my sugah..." Love this song. Fats Waller did a take on this on the Organ that is equally fantastic. You defintely hear a lot of JPJ style in Fats Waller, (teacher/pupil), and makes me wish I could live back then and go to a club to hear 'em play.
