are you kidding me? Torpedo dose not have flame explosion, instead it causes water to expand to crack the first layer armor of a ship and then followed by a large volume of upward splash of replaced water to break the whole ship.
But if you are talking about the earliest generation of torpedo, then you are 50% right because you forgot to add up-splash water.
Anyway, I appreciate your creativity and this effect is actually nice. I only think that you applied this effort into the wrong place.

First, thanks for the kind words about the effect. However, I think you are missing the point. This is a vxf breakdown for compositing, not a physics lesson in correct torpedo interaction. I watched plenty of real torpedo explosions before I created this and it is not far off from a few of them. Also, your response assumes that the torpedo did not hit a magazine or something else which would cause an explosion.
