Greece's latest 24-hour national strike turned violent - with police firing tear gas on angry crowds of protesters. The country all-but-ground to a halt as Greeks made their feelings known about the extra cuts they face so that the country can try and plug the massive 350-billion Euro debt. Greece's financial paralysis is being worsened by the admission it won't hit its budget targets. Economic analyst, Martin Hennecke, thinks the only way for Greece to survive is to default and start fresh.

  • This is war, and it's not countries against each other, this is the classes clash, also known as a revolution. You either are for it or against it, and it's going on everywhere. Revolutions are a true relief for obsolete systems, and the current economic enslaver has to be shot down, IT IS TiME!

  • From this day onward, the politicians will quickly find that sucking greece dry is not as easy as they thought!

    Oath of the Greek President:

"I do swear in the name of the Holy and consubstantial and Indivisible Trinity to safeguard the Constitution and the laws, to care for the faithful observance thereof, to defend the national independence and territorial integrity of the Country, to protect the rights and liberties of the Greeks and to serve the general interest and the progress of the Greek People".

    He broke his oath...

Constitution of Greece - Article 28/ Paragraph 3. Greece shall freely proceed by law passed by an absolute majority of the total number of Members of Parliament to limit the exercise of national sovereignty, insofar as this is dictated by an important national interest, does not infringe upon the rights of man and the foundations of democratic government and is effected on the basis of the principles of equality and under the condition of reciprocity. = Fail.

Sad situation, but I think it can be fixed. You need to create another system. I understand the "asylum law", but I believe that if they are indited, they lose that protection. The interests of the state are and always should be above the government. When a government betrays the national interest, that form of asylum should be lifted.

I'm not joking either, you need to stand up to your name and create another socio-economic system. Other countries will adopt it in time.

  • They won't recover until they leave the Euro. They need to devalue their currency, which they can't while they're in the euro. I hope they leave and devalue so we can all go there for a cheap holiday. Why no pictures of all the EU flags being burned etc?

  • Greeks themselves lack faith in their leaders as polls show nearly four out of five expect the country to default on their massive national debt within months.

  • Train services were also halted and more than 400 international and domestic flights were cancelled at Athens airport.
