Several guys in my area are trying strip till beets. I can see some benefits but also some problems with it. The fertilizer placement is great.

Are you in the "valley". The big problem with strip till beets is the attachment to 22 in rows, which brings with it residue flow problems in heavy corn and also prevents you from making as wide of a strip as you would normally like.

Those seem to work nice. I have regular dawn cleaner on my planter and they work well. The closer look really agressive, not sure how well they would work will small beet seed.

I have seen them used several times in beets. I think strip till beets are the next frontier. Several customers are already doing it. You get the same level of tillage you are used to but get some no till benefits too. Also precision fertilizer placement.

SE Wyoming. We rip everything in the fall because of the wind. In spring we have to knock the ridges back down. We've been using a brillion soil commander for less tillage than plowing. It works well, but I would like the precise fert placement you get from strip till. Hoping to have GPS next year so if we do try strip we can do it early and then come back and plant. Expensive though, so maybe not. Also then we might make the fall ridging work with where we want to strip till.
