Old Commercial slogan 3=6 For DKW

(Auto Union = AUDI) cars with Two Stroke 3Cyl. Engine ;)

This tiny responsive Engine proved very Durable and Tunable!!!

Especially if we Consider that this is Design from 30's...(previous century)

Some Atmospheric versions used in Rally by Wartburg,

    reached 120Hp from 1.0L

This same Engine is (Built with Licence) by SAAB

and (Without Licence) by WARTBURG,FSO Syrena... ;)

    And Sound is Just Great!!!

  • this enginge sounds great...

Yes F8 and F9 have 2 cyl. (engine later seen in the Trabant),but In 1939, they made a prototype with the first three-cylinder engine.Engine had a displacement of 900cc and produced 30hp.After WWII the F91/F93 models all had 900cc three-cylinder two-stroke engines also F102,DKW Junior,DKW Schnellaster and Auto Union 1000,

have 3 Cyl. engines with displacement from 0.75 to 1.2 Liter.Auto union also Built

    "Auto union 1000 V6 MÜLLER-Andernach" with 1.3 V6 two stroke engine.

  • @odzadze123 But which DKW had a 3-cyl.2-stroke engine? I only know twin-cylinder engines for example in the F8 and F9? sry if im wrong. And I think Wartburg built the engine without lincense because of DKW didnt exist anymore,it has turned into MZ and they built only bikes no more cars. I know that for sure, we live near Zschopau where the DKW Factory was (later MZ).

  • @MZTrail96

It is Destroked version of DKW Two Stroke 3 Cyl.

Btw. check out on web,Saab company acquired License from Auto Union (DKW),

In contrary Wartburg company from DDR ,has brazenly copied DKW engine

    without License.

Just like UZAM-412/331 engine in the Moskvitch, wich is unlicensed copy of M10

    from BMW :)

  • @odzadze123 but the saab engine had only 850cc and not 992cc

  • very very very nice. Love the sound. ;)
