Rapid Sequence Airway (R.S.A.) is an approach to emergency airway management that combines the pharmacology of Rapid Sequence Intubation (R.S.I.), with planned placement of a newer generation gastric isolation extraglottic airway without any prior attempt at intubation. RSA may be used a primary airway strategy for EMS or as a bridge to intubation. We have used this approach more than 40 times in the field and about 6 times in the ED for both hypoxemia and gastric decompression following prolonged bag-valve-mask ventilation. Get more information at www.airway911.com or on the Airway911 Facebook page.
How do you become a patient for this type thing?

The initial LMA Supreme insertion technique is correct. Pre-loading with an OG is nice.
Then there is a cut.
When in place and hooked up to ventilation the device is in backwards.
Look at the fixation tab, and it will be obvious.

Crazier than a soup sandwich. All he needs is a Stetson hat, some boots and a six-shooter and he'll be a REAL cowboy too.

Um rocuronium first? No. Push the hypnotic before the paralytic. Everyone knows that.

These people are stupid...why not just tube him to start out with? There's no need to put in an LMA first then switch to an ETT. Dumbasses

Excellent demonstration and a well controlled intubation with no trauma.
