"This story has disrupted the school's morale greatly, including my own. I am friends with the girl," Baker said. "When I started here, I felt extremely unsafe and so did she, due to the lack of police officers and security officers."

Baker later described the 15-year-old girl as a churchgoer who struggled to fit in at Richmond High.

Four teenagers were arraigned Thursday on charges connected to the incident. Cody Ray Smith, described by the court as over 14 years old, pleaded not guilty to charges of rape with a foreign object and rape by force.

Two other juveniles, Ari Abdallah Morales and Marcelles James Peter, appeared together with Smith at the Contra Costa County Superior Court, but did not enter a plea. The court described Morales as under 16, and did not give an age for Peter.

All three juveniles, who wore bulletproof vests at the hearing, were charged as adults. A fourth individual, Manuel Ortega, 19, appeared separately without an attorney and did not enter a plea. He did not wear a protective vest. Another adult who was arrested has a different court date.

As many as 10 people were involved in the assault in a dimly lit back alley at the school, police have said. Another 10 people watched, without calling 911, police said.

  • @tTNIGGZz I have removed comments that I accidently posted twice. So what? What has that got to do with anything. And yes we are in a society where it's ok for men to sleep around and not ok for women, coz if we weren't then you wouldn't have this view that the rape victim is party responsible for being raped if she is seductive. It's pathetic.

  • @tTNIGGZz I know that most 'sex addicts' don't rape, and ironcally as it seems they have values! Like I have said rape is mostly down to a mans need to dominate and control women. It is a fact! Most 'sex addicts' don't rape! I can't put it any simpler than that! I have spent years studying the bastard subject! It is in fact you that is making an idiot of yourself for believing otherwise!

  • @tTNIGGZz LMARO! Rape has nothing to do with temptation and seduction. It is mostly about power and control and domination, and a man refusing to control himself when a woman DOES NOT want sex. Your beliefs insult me, and is also an insult to other men as it implies that men are too stupid to be capable of knowing when a woman doesn't want sex. I'm not stupid enough to pin a woman down, and proceed to have sex with her when she is clearly showing distress. It's not difficult to see that

  • @tTNIGGZz Men need to learn that they can't go forcing women to have sex with them coz these women were drunk, being seductive, walking around half naked, lying, hanging around with men etc etc. Almost every one of the suggestions are based on false assumptions about rape, and, in reality, do very little to protect girls from rape.Constantly telling girls what they should do to prevent rape sends the harmful message that females, and not males, are responsible if they get raped.

  • @tTNIGGZz I would just like to point out that 9 out of 10 rapes don't lead to conviction. So saying that 'changing male behaviour is implausable as we subject rapists to prison' just shows again that you have very little knowledge about this subject. We need to look at preventing rape, and we have to start by focusing totally on the rapist (not the victim). I have already repeatedly mentioned in previous comments how to tackle this problem so I am not repeating myself again.

  • @tTNIGGZz I have tried to help women after a rape coz a lot of them suffer from Traumatic Stress Disorder brought on as a result of that rape. It leaves their life in ruins. No way would a psyschologist have a rape victim sat in front of them to analyse their behaviour leading upto that rape! You stupid brainless moron! PMSFL that comment is hilarious! Your stupidity just gets better and better with each comment you make!

  • @tTNIGGZz The only person to judge in a rape case, is the man that commited that rape. We want to eliminate rape, and we can not do that if a womans behaviour leading up to that rape comes under analysis. It isn't the victim that is in the wrong or at fault. It is the rapist. Analyzing a womans behaviour is completely pointless, and it won't change anything, coz there is nothing wrong with that woman. I keep telling you that a womans behaviour will not eliminate, or even diminish rape!

  • @tTNIGGZz There you go again coming up with pointless comparisons to a rape. How you can compare your situation to a rape is beyond comprehension. You harmed someone in self-defense. There was no rape involved. When a woman gets raped, she has done no harm to anyone so it doesn't justify it. Nothing can justify a rape. Two totally different situations

  • @tTNIGGZz A women can drink, have a good time, and lie, and want attention. She can do do what the hell she wants - it is certainly not an invitation for sex! They took advantage of that girl, and if it wasn't her it would have been someone else. A women is never partly at fault for getting raped!

  • @tTNIGGZz If your having consensual sex with a girl, and you start to perform a sex act that she doesn't like, then any normal man would stop. It's a turn off to do something sexually to a girl when she doesn't like it. What turns a man on during sex is knowing that the girl he is having sex with is aroused and enjoying what he is doing to her. A man knows when a woman doesn't want sex. It's very easy to determine that, so there is no way a girl can confuse his perception!
