What happens when you use an age-old Malaysian art form to tell a series of love stories by one of the greatest English playwrights ever?

We'll be bringing to you Mak Yong "Titis Sakti". Inspired by Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, the story has been adapted for Mak Yong. However, the staging itself stays true to the style of Mak Yong which fuses together singing, dance, drama, romance and comedy.

The light-hearted comedy follows three couples who are in pursuit of love and, ultimately, their lifelong partner. All three are faced with different predicaments. This is when the magical Bunga Kasih Sakti comes into play.

Be prepared to be transported to an altogether different world where supernatural powers exist alongside human emotions. It's a real rare treat to experience this dying art form...it's said to be the only one of its kind in the Southeast Asian region!

It promises to be a mesmerising show right from the intricate costumes and handcrafted headgears to the dance movements.

Mak Yong "Titis Sakti" will be performed in B.M. but scene-by-scene descriptions in English will be made available. In addition, there will be an educational exhibition on Mak Yong at klpac's foyer.

UNESCO proclaimed Mak Yong to be a "Masterpiece of The Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity".
