  • I MUCH prefer Ms. Horne singing this piece (or really any other piece, for that matter,) than Cecilia Bartoli.

  • sempre fantastici i bassi di Mrs Horne, grandissima mezzosoprano e donna estremamente simpatica, insomma, una splendida artista

  • @tomasburi, I understand your comment. One disclaimer though: I am fairly sure that what you heard in this video was purposeful and quite historically accurate. Around the time of Rossini, one could argue that it was "all the rage" to repeat the same note instead of doing a turn around it. This is a very difficult technique to master and sounds like a mistake to modern ears.

I am not arguing with you; just pointing out one aspect of this video that may be unfairly judged.

  • I'd first head this piece sung by Bartoli and was astounded that anyone could sing it with such speed; I've heard other beautiful Mezzo's take it a bit more slow and "pretty". I'm absolutely and sincerely impressed with the way Horne handles this piece. Fantastic! Thanks for sharing.

  • PERFETTA! che timbro favoloso!

  • Maravilosa! Aunque se invente la mitad de laletra

  • A PERFECT performance. love her!

  • Maravillosa, ¡bravo Horne!

  • Bravissima. the best at this aria

  • @pastpresentfuture000 Cecilia Bartoli doesn't have the sixteenth of the voice that Mrs. Horne has. :)

  • I'm sorry, maybe many fans will disagree with me, but I really can't agree with some of these comments. Many of the coloraturas are fused, I can hear almost every breath (which many times delays first tone coming after it) and all the thing is a bit scary. I'm not a fan of Bartoli, yes, her facial expressions are strange, her voice isn't loud enough for large halls, but she's more accurate and her technique, which some people call yodeling, is in fact historically correct, esp. regarding Rossini

  • ¡¡¡LA MAGNIFICA MARILYN SIEMPRE PORTENTOSA!!! QUE PERFECCION,

QUE SENTIDO DEL ESTILO Y QUE GRAN CAPACIDAD MUSICAL. REALMEN-

    TE MARAVILLOSA.
