Hmm. If they are sticky, they could be dusted with some desiccated coconut--just for a variation. Hey! Maybe even a few sesame seeds embedded in them would be nutritious fun!

Aren't they just like fruit roll-ups sold in the U.S.?

Ah I have seen a product like this sold in health food shops, sold as fruit snacks, made with '100% real dried fruit' advertised on the packaging.
much cheaper to make your own, the cooking and long baking process seems to concentrate the flavour. Loads of hawthorns about now, I will consider giving this a go.

with all that energy used to cook it for 12 hours, you could buy 20 boxes and still make out. lol.

Wonderful. Very clear and easy to follow! My Mum used to buy these for me when I was a child, but they were always so expensive they were a special treat. I'm so excited to attempt to make them myself.
It would be wonderful to have you explain drying fruits, tomatoes in the oven.... If you feel so inclined!

We ate fruit leathers as snacks only when I was a kid. In Turkey, you can buy these everywhere, for cheap. Thanks for showing how,.

natural or not the end result is still the same! but they do look rather super.
You say at the end that there's no sugar in it, but this is untrue. It is packed with sugars, but natural ones, so it's better, but still sugar...

I guess it's a bit of a technical point. There is no added processed sugar. There are natural sugars, from the honey and the fruit.
