@THEEVANTHETOON - Christ's doctrine? You mean slavery, and savage whipping of slaves? Do you mean "take nothing for the morrow" because birds don't plant crops, therefore humans need not do any work (as Jesus says)? You mean Jesus' inane beliefs in Adam & Eve, Noah, and Lot's wife turning into salt?
Or maybe you mean Christ's PRAISE of genocide? Is that the Christian doctine you refer to?
@THEEVANTHETOON - Only with "Faith" (belief without needing proofs; or "gullibility") can one believe such nonsense. I predict that one day when your physical brain is more developed, as well as your mind, you will see how silly such concepts are. I believe this about you because it is clear that you are a very smart person. I can't figure out why or how you have come to believe this particular cult, instead of, let's say, Jainism (which is so much more peaceful). Fear of death, maybe?
...not allow, e.g. raising one from the dead to demonstrate one's power and concern for humanity. So to say that God is magical simply is to misunderstand definitions and/or the nature of God, and one who deduces that God does not exist because He is "magical" and "magic" is scientifically impossible is guilty of either really bad theology or equivocation, at best.
"supernatural, omniscient, omnipresent..."
Now you're just guilty of sloppy theological understanding...
@THEEVANTHETOON - "There's not a single contemporary source about Alexander the Great" - How about the coins minted during his reign that have his image on them?
Besides, historians don't claim Alexander was magical. Christians do claim Jesus was magical, supernatural, omniscient, omnipresent, the "only begotten son of God" (earlier in the Bible, "Adam" was claimed to be the Son of God; as well as many other claims of sons of God). It's so sad and fake.
Besides, this may not be true. In the Jewish Talmud, we have something that may possibly be Jesus' arrest notice. It reads: "He [Yeshua ha Notzri, in English: Jesus of Nazareth] shall be stoned because he has practiced sorcery and lured Israel to apostasy. Anyone who can say anything in his favor, let him come forward and plead on his behalf. Anyone who knows where he is, let him declare it to the Great Sanhedrin in Jerusalem".
There's not a single contemporary source about Alexander the Great, either. Now, there are plenty of primary sources, that is, sources written by eyewitnesses after His life. But, if Jesus really did exist, we have plenty of eyewitnesses who wrote about Him: Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Paul, James, Peter, Jude, as well as the many other witnesses Paul and other mention in their epistles/Gospels.
The New Testament is sufficient enough evidence for Jesus' existence. It is not just some incredibly imaginitive legend, but the true story of our Lord and Saviour who walked this Earth among us and gave His life.
Who even CARES about the technicality of "was he real or wasn't he?", did he live or didn't he?". That is SO beyond the point that it's completely LAME. Just read his TEACHINGS people. It's about converting one's heart. I can't believe some people actually debate whether or not Jesus really lived & was an actual person. GET OVER IT! If you're stuck on the "was he or wasn't he?", "did he or didn't he?", "where's the evidence?",then you have MANY other issues to worry about!

@gekritzl
...Christian doctrine is that Christ, who was fully God, became fully human. He had dual-natures when He was on earth.

@THEEVANTHETOON Luke and Paul NEVER MET JESUS so how can you call them eyewitnesses?
