I made this video in appreciation of talented people who make music tools for FREE for those of us who are not rich, like me. The last third of this video is where the actual testing of the VST plugin is. The first third of the video shows me using Google to get to the KVR site. KVR has a contest right now to see who could make the best free VST (virtual studio technology) plug-in. Members of KVR can vote for their top 5 favourite VST plug-ins. There are over 40 plug-ins entered in this year's contest. Members (free membership) have till the end of November to vote. The winner wins whatever cash is donated to the prize pool. To test this plug-in I used the free VST host MiniHost. It was made by an excellent VST developer by the name of Tobybear. I used the free program 7-Zip to decompress downloaded files. Once the plug-in is loaded and running in MiniHost I used the QWERTY keyboard to trigger the notes and yes it's not as good as using an actual electronic piano keyboard. In addition to the QWERTY keyboard the MiniHost let's you use the mouse to click on the virtual keyboard at the bottom. My top favourite plug-in so far is nix808's Entrancer. I will be testing it later on and will probably make a video of it once nix808 finishes making more presets for it.

  • KVRaudio is bad ass in regards to where we are going with music and have been. Developers are underestimated here, one of my favorites that has been developed I believe it was by a KVR developer don't qoute me was Crystal this one is bad ass.

  • Glad you liked my MiniHost program :-)

  • Another nice thing is some developers of feeware VST instruments make it easy to send donations.
