To play blues or "cross-harp" to a song in "E" you need an "A" harp. To play in key of "A" you need a "D" harp. The easiest way to think of it is to take the 2nd chord of your 3-chord trick as the guide, so (for example) in the key of "C" the chords are C, F & G..... so you need an "F" harp; in the key of "G" they are G, C & D so you need a "C" harp, and so on.... good luck!
