Uncle Sams Original Show, presented by the Crab Orchard Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, recently took to the stage of the Palace Theatre for its seventh year.
For the seventh year, the ladies of the chapter added new acts and music, transporting audiences from World War II to Korea and Vietnam.
The show is a nostalgic radio-style variety show that spotlights entertainers and personalities from those eras through music, comedy and historic speeches.
Talented local performers took the stage as Al Jolson, Patti Page, Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley, Sgrt. Barry Sadler, along with visits from Lucille Ball and Presidents Franklin D. Roosevelt and Harry S. Truman.
Proceeds from the event support the chapters historic preservation, education and patriotic activities as well as the Cumberland County Veterans Emergency Fund established by the chapter two years ago.
A really good show. You should be proud.
