Obama Care in Vermont - Infected Thumb (Part 2)

Recorded on June 27, 2010 using a Flip Video camcorder.

Joe Pecor had a boo bo on the tip of his right thumb that became infected. He is a big baby and ignored it as long as he could. It grew and grew until finally rupturing. Yellow puss oozed out of his thumb and then exposed in internal sack of puss sticking out the burst blister. We decided for him to perform a manual extraction of the sac to reduce the chance of resumed infection. No Anesthetic!!! There was pain involved!! The procedure was quick and saved Joe over one thousand dollars in medical bills!!

@skillingfretz We think it may have started as a splinter or blister which became infected. It had been infected for months until the pain became too much to bear. The infection was being attacked by his immune system which caused his thumb to swell and rupture the derma (skin). This revealed an isolated sac of puss which was easily removed in one piece. The wound was cleaned, dressed and is healing nicely now.
