This is Pete's variations on the chord squence and the deep question of WHAT IS THIS THING CALLED LOVE. It's clear that Mr. Malinverni has reached many kinds of enlightenment. Pianist Michael Kanan's brilliant idea: get the fine individualistic pianists Tardo Hammer, Pete Malniverni, Larry Ham, and himself -- along with bassist Neal Miner and Eliot Zigmund -- together for an evening of melodic, exploratory jazz at Sofia's (211 West 46th Street in New York City). It happened! Recorded by Michael Steinman for JAZZ LIVES (http://www.jazzlives.wordpress.com)
