well in battle the usually dont get stabbed with a 6 foot sword through the entire upper body, you just get bitchslapped by monsters REALLY hard

in battles you get ko'd, not killed =)

I remember how happy I was to thrash Jenova after this scene. Even more, I remember watching my sister play through the scene when she got to it a few days later. The wide-eyed hanging jaw of shock was priceless. One of the most powerful game moments of all time. Though Kefka's absolute destruction of the world was pretty high up there, too.

Although i was pretty moved by this moment, i wasn't really sad for what happened. I didn't really care much for Aerith (or Aeris, however you call her). The song made me sad. But i would care much more if one of my favorites died.

This scene makes me shed a tear pretty much every time I see it, and it is predominantly because of the music, but usually by about the time you get your three party members just starting at Aeris' corpse. It's that moment of finality when the game says "yep, she's not coming back, deal with it."

Unless of course Vincent is in your party, in which case he doesn't give a crap.

Because FF7 wasn't as polished as it should have been. A lot of mistakes like that are in the game. Then you have the down-right horrible translation. Still, it's probably in the top-5 best FF games.

you cant show me this stuff *sob* i actually did tear up a bit at first i sat there emotionless with my jaw dropped and was like "why!?" but then her freakin theme kicks in and i feel a hot liquid in my eyes and the liquid drips down and hits my leg...only to find out they....were tears i couldnt believe it and a little later after i was so pissed i rampaged on jenova i realized...that it was possible for the use of a pheonix down

something that keeps bothering me from this scene is.

when aerith sinks into the river, Why cant you see cloud standing there in the underwater view as just a moment before you could see him standing till his waist in the water???
