Op het testterrein Mortefontaine van Renault nabij Parijs maken we kennis met twee varianten van de elektrische Renault Twizy . Omdat de auto pas begin volgend jaar op de markt verschijnt, moeten we het nog even doen met prototypes. Op het buitenterrein is een Franse binnenstad nagebootst waar we met de 45 km/uur-versie van de Twizy plantenbakken en geparkeerde auto's mogen ontwijken. Op de grote testbaan kunnen we de 85 km/uur-versie van de Twizy even op zijn staart trappen.

  • @sbwords It's not for sale yet so I don't know. But it has a 13KW motor, so 18hp, and 57Nm of torque!! That being 450kg, so it should do well uphill.

  • What's the pull like on hills? Has the motor the torque to deal with steep hills?

  • the only reason car manufacturers are finally embracing electric cars is because their decade long oil contracts are nearing the end. Once oil prices go up, no one is going to buy cars that run on gas, so electric cars will be another option and so the car corporations will make deals with nuclear power providers.

  • @VW1302toulon je bosse au centre essai renault j'ai la chance de l'avoir essayé et pour moi le gros problème est l'autonomie car je n'ai jamais reussi a depasser 50km en roulant cool...

  • ZeroEmission? Are they forgetting about the gigantic nuclear power stations that still in order to run pollute the earth? Might as well purchase myself a range rover sport/ - Yes that would do the world a whole of good :D
