A trailer, made by me, to one of my all time favorite films: James Cameron's masterpiece, 'The Abyss' (I especially recommend the director's cut). This is not a parody or spoof of any kind, it's based entirely on the original film. Also, I do apologize for the certain gaps of black here and there, that was my way at the time of indicating suspence and mystery, but now I can see how quite annoying it can be. This film is not owned by me, it is, with great respect, courtesy of 20th Century Fox and James Cameron.
Are you serious? 5 thumbs down? Awesome work man.

very VERY nicely done.
the only thing I'd change are deleting/shortening some of the dead black pauses, but damn, very good.

Not bad. You're on the right track. To much black in the beggining, but good stuff.

Cool. You should take out the black-outs in the beginning, but leave them where they are timed with the thumping noise in the music.

thats because certain people in government didn't want people to see the original version I think

Nice trailer. I do have to agree w/ "duncanzhang", though. The quick cuts to black at the end (on the bass drum beat) are very effective; but the long gaps earlier in the trailer are not. And there are two or three spots where the audio cutaways are a bit jarring. Just need some smoothing over is all. Aside from that, it has good structure and pacing, though. Nice work. I'm fond of recut trailers. Check out my channel to see the ones I've done.

Really nice job! Apart from the blackouts, it rivals the offical trailer.
