Unknown sound or noise coming from area of differential in a modified, 2005 Cadillac CTS-V. Sound is of lower frequency, sort of like a flag being buffeted in a breeze.

  • Turns out, it's not the differential that's making the noise ... the diff is fine. What I've discovered after this vid was posted that apparently the UUC lightweight flywheel that I had just been installed has exposed some harmonic vibration in the drivetrain. It occurs only in 4th gear at about 27-30 MPH.

As far as the banana comment, whatelseiswhere must be a Toyota owner and, though it may be redundant to say so, is clueless about cars.

  • I want this video on my V500 phone.

  • check ur blinker fluid

  • man im getting all kinds of clacks clangs and thumps outta my drivetrain my 04 v has got about 80k on it, im gonna do a full mount overhaul, rear end bushings, motor mounts tranny mount to see if this will help anything my theory is that cadillac wanted these cars to be super quite on the inside instead of performing so they used super soft materials, and they probably expected the original owners to trade the cars in before any of these things went bad. ill let you know how it turns out for me

  • hey, thanks for posting. i have heard poepl talking about the noise, but know i know!
