there is a great interview by Jean Liedloff (touch the future) here on youtube. very important for all parents :-)

@minimality babies are designed to be carried and crawling and walking also happens in a natural way. think about the babies in africa. the mothers carry them all day on their back :-)

She looks ill

if the baby is all the time carried how will she learn to crawl etc?

Loving the day village concept and, to be honest, think the name is perfect, too. It takes a village, right?

i carried and co-slept with all all 3 of my kids! you are doing a great job - thanks for great inspiration!

i like this way of life "enough is enough". I'm soon changing my life the way she said, simpler, with time to rase my children and be with them, etc.

That brings me back to when my son was born. I wore that child whenever I wasn't at work, expressed milk at work for him and he slept right beside me at night where he could drink without waking me up. Even though his life had a lot of turmoil (got rid of ex before he was born), he grew up knowing he was loved without the typical rebellions (or illnesses) of youth. Home was his safe place. He'll graduate with his EPs degree next spring. I thank my local La Leche League for their support.

...furthermore... "In arms" can also mean sitting and holding your baby or sitting/laying beside your baby. And if you feel like you still need a break and no one's around to help, babies also like things that mimic being in arms, like strollers, swings, etc. :) One other thing to note is that the "in arms" phase is only full-time for the first couple of months. Once the baby begins to become independent by crawling, and eventually walking, the time in arms becomes less & less. Bittersweet!
This is Debra from the video! :) Thnx to everyone who gave feedback and compliments! I would like to share further about the Continuum Concept that it is based on a mother-baby-village relationship. Since most of us here in America are not living in villages, but rather in single family units, it can make carrying your baby full-time a bit of a challenge! We may not always have someone we can pass our baby to when we need a break! No matter your situation, I encourage you to just do your best!
