Lol, for the first few seconds I panicked cause one of the girls had what appeared to be blood coming out of her ankles. But it was just her sock(?) or part of her tights. I have dark and rather morbid thoughts, I know.

I have to agree with cocolinabt. It is the first class, people! Every one had to start somewhere, and there is nothing more awkward than a beginning pointe student.

@truiemorte you do realise that there are 2 girls who are not on point which means the teacher did put thought into which girl he'd put on pointe... plus- it's the first pointe class, naturally they dont have neither the strenght nor technique. thats why they're learning it. they'll make mistakes and they'll learn. but they have to start somewhere

@truiemorte: Ummm, 2 of her former students now dance for the New York City Ballet and countless others became professional dancers... The teacher herself was educated by nobody less than Sonia Gaskil, the founder of the dutch national ballet. And she really works carefully with the kids, they get checked by an orthopedist before they're actually allowed to even start with pointework and than they start really carefully, 10-15 minutes at the end of class.
