Actually what happens is you fill out "papers." When these are completed they are sent to the headquarters of the Mormon church and are reviewed by the leaders. Through spiritual inspiration, they then determine where you should go. You don't get fired from your mission. Men go on missions for 24 months, girls for 18. At the end of that time, you get sent home. If you have any other questions please reply and I will be happy to answer them for you.

Or if they feel they need to. My brother knew he had to come home one transfer early to meet his wife in time. They met less than a week before he would have gotten back, and at an event she almost didn't attend.

A mission is usually around 2 years. If a missionary breaks certain rules, or gets ill they come home early.

my friend elder britt coray is serving in that same mission
