Sergei Vasilievich Rachmaninoff, (1. April 1873 - 28. March 1943) was a Russian composer, pianist, and conductor. He was one of the finest pianists of his day and, as a composer, the last great representative of Russian late Romanticism in classical music.
Yes, it's wonderful. Never knew too much about chorals by Rachmaninoff. Not massive at all, as some would expect his piano works to be.
You see the music spreads everywhere. Perhaps, if we try hard enough, the lady of all nations will hear our prayers and the nations of earth may be preserved from degeneration, disaster and war.

@theone1087 Agreed. Only when that horrible spiritually polluting soviet era mummy has been removed from Krasyaya Plashd (Great/Beautiful Square - mistranslated as 'Red' Square) at the heart of Russia - & burned - will Great Russia truly rise & be free.

@Paeremannen Sir, read my statement carefully. That building which has the devilish star on it, was erected under the Tsars. However what many people don't about the imperial era and the godless era, is that both regimes favoured red. So I don't know if that star preceded Lenin, if it did then keep because it would be a Tsarist relic, if it is a Communist symbol... blow it to smithereens. Pre-1917 by definition means the era of Nicholas II and prior. Please read carefully.

I don't think many churches were built in the Soviet Union, mate.

I wish they take those satanic red stars down from the 'Kremlin'? in the beginning photos. Unless those stars were there pre-1917, they should come down along with every terrible Godless relic and memorabilia from the era of the red devils.

Ahh,#2 Blagoslovi Dushue Moya Gospoda. One of my favorites from All Night Vigil. the other being #5 and #14. No doubt that Valeri Polianski Vespers is the best recording of the Op.37. Praised by its pureness and the beautifull solos of Irinia Arkhipova on this one and Viktor Rumanjtsiev. Oh and another funny fact that most of the people dont know is that the leading basso profondo was a young Yuri Wichniakov mastering the bass section perfectly. You can fin him on youtube. Thanks for posting!!
