This is a comparison between two LED Lenser lights, the P3 & P4, and the Mag Lite Mini. All lights are using new batteries and were filmed under the same light conditions. If you found this review helpful and would like to see other reviews of LED Lenser lights or COAST Knives. Let me know. To purchase go to www.nineright.com or my eBay store at http://stores.shop.ebay.com/NineRight__W0QQ_armrsZ1. Thanks.

For those who care, this was filmed with a Canon Vixia HFS100

  • why did they go so low on lumens with p3.. 14lumens are way to low.. less run time and more lumens would be better.. p5/t5 is a better deal. 65lumen 8hour run time is great.. just hope it`s not ugly blue tint like p3.. my best led light got 4000kelvin.. 6000-7000k cool white/blue are not good for outdoor use.. all brands should say what kelvin there lights have..

  • LED Lenser makes a wide verity of lights for different purposes. The P5 is great for compact size and a lot of power, which is important to some people, but there are people where battery life is more important. I do love the P5, it is one of our favorites, however if i'm doing a small technical job like working on a computer, i'll grab the P4. The P5 is just to bright for what I'm doing, plus I don't eat up batteries as fast with the 96 hour P4 battery rating. Newer P3's are white now.

  • how is the led mag lite

  • I have yet to try the LED mags, however, even if they are a little brighter than normal and last longer. They still do not have LED Lenser's focusing system. So an LED Mag would still have dark spots as the way the light is outputted remains the same. Secondly, LED Lenser LED are rated at 100,000 hours, Mag Lite LEDs are rated somewhere around 20,000 hours, if that.. The third issue is size, you only need a LED Lenser a quarter of the size of a MAG to out due it, such as the P7 vs the 4D.

  • It is not honest to compare two led lights with a normal flashlight. The Maglite trades led lights also! Visit the maglite.com

I don't want to stand up for the Maglite (although it is verified quality) but this is not a good ground of comparison.

  • dude every time you said if it was splot or flood got them mixed up.

  • End the discussion and get a Preon 1 or 2

  • Very very very good comparison!!!!!!

  • WTF? Is this supposed to be a serious comparison? I honestly feel like this could totally be tongue-in-cheek, it's that ridiculous. This is a Clown Car vs a Subaru Outback.

EDIT: Oh wait, you're selling them! I get it now. Good luck with that ebay store, bro. :|

  • dose anyone know where i can get replacement bulbs for the led lights

  • NOT a fair comparison, as many have already said but i think you should listen. A led lenser is a tactical flashlight, it is DESIGNED to be bright and have a far throw, where as a Maglite (I emphasise SOLITAIRE not mini Mag!) is not, it's a keyring torch, a novelty item more than a reliable light. a better comparison would be against a Fenix or a Surefire torch, not a 15 year old, incandescent keyring flashlight!
