I've built three of H2O2's V2.0.0 PWMs and am preparing to build three more. His video and instructions are very detailed and easy to follow. This was important to me because I had zero experience working with SMT. After viewing H2O2's videos I was confident that I could accomplish this project. You do not need a soldering station. I used a Radio Shack 15/30 watt soldering iron (640-2055) with a fine tip (64-2052) and .015 solder (64-035). You will need a magnifying tool. This PWM is awesome.

I have built the Zero PWM and have had a problem with over heating. This is after weeks of use, the 12000 cap would loose its cool and self destruct. I am only trying to control a 30 amp cell (checked with raw voltage) to around 15-20 amps.
I would like to try building your improved PWM, but I cannot find the print, and parts list. Could you please supply these for me so I may try out your unit. I am very impressed with your detailed vids. Thanks!

Note: if you add more Electrolyte the Average current will be maintained but the peek current will rise and it is hard to observe Peak Current and you could go over the maximum rating of the MosFet. Heat also causes the peak current to rise, and we want to control the current as heat rises in the cell.
As far as Components that get hot, The MosFet ( ie Q1 ) is the one that generates the heat.
What video editing software do you use as it's pretty neat?

For Video #1 through #39 I used Windows Movie Maker it came with my Windoes Vista. I now use Adobe Perimire Pro 3 the Video #40 and #41 are edited with Adobe and are the same camera as all my previous episodes.
All my new stuff will be recorded in HD at 30Fps 1080P

Kudos to you too sir! The gate driver is definitely an improvement. Did your faster switching times reduce device heating? Which gate driver did you settle on?
Poking fun a little bit, you do realize that H2O2 stands for hydrogen peroxide, right? ;-)

Thanks Zero, The driver is TC1411NEOA, Have some unloaded OScope shots at ://h2o2fromh2o.oregonsouth.c*o*m/Vid-IMGs13.h*t*m (Remove the *) if you care to take a look, I have only tested my 4 MosFet PWM at 15Amps, and the load is Head light of a car, not a real load test. My cell a Fire in the water drycell is in the conditioning stage. Can only get 5 amps with Vinegar, 5 neutrals and 19 plates. I would like to see it higher! KOH Soon!

Yes, hydrogen peroxide Its all YouTubes fault, When the account was made they limit Characters, dont allow symbols and spaces? Whats a chemist to do LOL. Been signing my messages H2 O2 probably should be 2(H2)O2 and no subscript on YouTube : - (

Would this item also over heat? or why or why wouldn't it work? thanks Will

As long as your completed PWM worked for you for more then 15-30 minutes when it was installed! Then it my have over heated, because of To Much Electrolyte(Ie not knowing the starting point of your Peak Current.)Or every thing was set up correctly and the heat sink did not remove enough heat and it over heated the MosFet.The heat will destroy the MosFet. If you built the PWM Unit yourself then that is a different set of questions. If you need more info please message me directly.
