Absolutely beautiful!
I enjoy the way they go back and forth between Greek and Slavonic, reminds me of the rich heritage that is our beloved church
This sounds Slavic to me. I hear them chant Xristos Vaskres, and answers Vaistinu Vaskres. Meaning Christ has risen, He has truly rissen!

Bless Brother! They chant the canon in Greek, but they get to the part of Christ is Risen, Truly is Risen, that is said in Slavonic.....then chanting Christ is risen is Greek 2 times and then final in Slavonic....God bless

@vagos2006 thanks for the answer brother! But I suppose they are Slavics as they have a heavy accent when they pronounce Greek words. Are my suspicions correct?

Well this is Valaam monastery....they speak only Slavonic! so yes they would be slavic......But they do a lot of chants in Greek as well, thats why they have the accent. God bless brother!

This is stunningly beautiful. Might I ask where you got this recording? I can't find it anywhere, and I would love to have the complete Kanon, instead of simply the Heirmos of each Ode.
Thanks!

I got off their Pascha CD. They don't chant the entire canon in Greek only Slavonic. The only Greek is the beginning of each Heirmos and that is it. I edited out the slavonic and put up only the Greek because the Slavonic is chanted completely different in terms of Melody.
