Once again, antisemitic priest, Father Tadeuscz Rydzyk is leveraging Jew-hatred to promote his extremist agenda in Poland. Speaking to university students, the media mogul who heads Radio Maryja has created a major political crisis by seeking to scapegoat Jews, and by denouncing Poland's President, Lech Kaczynski, as a "fraudster who is in the pockets of the Jewish lobby."

Rydzyk went on to accuse the tiny Polish Jewish community of "grafting $65 billion from Poland" under the pretext of "Jewish pogroms" in the 1930's saying, "They [the Jews] will come to you and say, 'Give me your coat! Take off your trousers! Give me your shoes!'"

I did not blame Jews. I've just said the history is not black and white and the life is not always fair. It's 70 years after the war - Poles did not start the war, we were the victims just as Jews were (5 mln Poles died). We have not only actively fought the Nazi occupant but also organized help for Jews while the West was doing NOTHING!!! This apply also to American Jews - Unlike Poles, they did nothing to help their brothers in Poland + they wont Poles to pay. It's a travesty.

Lots of people seem to forget that Germans and Jews during the occupation by Germany/ Russia /Austria from 1780-1918 became very wealthy while Poles became very poor. German and Yiddish is similar and was one of the reasons there was close collboration. As early as 1850 it was noticed by UK politicians that the Polish middle class was almost entirely Jewish while Poles were mostly uneducated peasants. Yes Jews had a lot before the war, but their wealth was courtesy of the occupying powers!!!

@mirawayne what about the rest of the people, who paid for their properties before the war (like my family) and then they were destroyed in war or stayed in Soviet Union? Noone returned anything to them and then they paid for another buildings again to have place to live?

I bet in most cases the maintenance costs over that 70 years are already higher than value of the properties...

There is no way that things go back to what was before war here, however easy that might look from the US.

So that for second part of your question.

In my view: yeah, they are entitled to their property, just as we are. But sometimes you are entitled to something and you don't get this due to the reasons beyond. This is the case.
