Cadbury Creme Eggs Ad (1985 ad, 1992 Version)

Cadbury Creme Egg ad from New Zealand, as shown in 1992. This was towards the end of life for this ad, in later years it was replaced by new advertising. The NZ Film Archives list the ad as being from 1985. The advertising agency was Colenso.

I don't know one person who preferred any of the subsequent ads over this one. We live in hope that Cadbury will realise the error of their ways, and bring this ad back.

This ad, or more specifically the girl in the ad, was the subject of one of those "What are they doing now" shows a few years ago. See, people do remember this one!

The boy in the glasses is apparently Alexis Banas, and he attended Hataitai Primary School in Wellington (YouTube comments).

Unfortunately the last scene, where the school teacher is seen eating a Creme Egg is replaced by the Double Chocolate promotion.

One of my favourite ads, used to look for this each year as it meant Creme Eggs were forthcoming. A box of 50 didn't last long in our house (product no longer manufactured in New Zealand, UK version apparently tastes different).

I was the Account Director on this account at Colenso. It was written by Charlie Sutherland a multi-award winning advertising writer who sadly passed away in 2011. The jingle was produced by Murray Grindley who was lead singer in the Underdogs Blues Band many years ago and an award winning singer / composer. Among many successful jingles Murray also produced was the Cadbury Crunchie 'Great Train Robbery' ad.

heres what i do.... i the egg directly in half (right on the line) with a razor, so its perfectly straight..... then i stick my tongue in each side and lick out the frosted yolk.... then i grab some baby oil out of the bathroom and start rubbing my dong until a ribbon of jizz comes out.... i fill up ONE side with jizz and top it off with a snot rocket for flavor.... then i put the other half of the egg on it and put it in the fridge so the halves weld together.

Dinner is served!

A charming and favourite Easter Egg advertisement. I'm 38 years old and remember this advertisement when I was 9 years old. That proves how old this advertisement is.

The boys name is Alex Banas, and the girl is Chloe Groser.
