Just discovered OpenShot last week and love it! It can be a little quirky at times so making it a default editorer and to get some more developers working on it would be great!
As for removing GIMP, it's understandable, although it's essential for me, it's a big heavy program the average user won't use too much.
I haven't used F-Spot that much, it needs features such as red eye removal, cropping etc. I like it's built-in export to picasa/facebook/flickr etc.

I have a couple of my games up on launchpad, I have had very little interest but seeing as more games are needed I wouldn't mind writing some more email me if there is anything you want implemented (within reason).

To get any significant market share, Ubuntu needs to build a solid platform on mobile devices and with governments/schools. Young gamers don't drive the OS market, and never have.
Also, any penetration into academia or government markets will, likely, come from outside the US.

To save the rotated image, hit Ctrl-s after rotating. Très simple.

Why does the Gimp need to go? Why not just move to a DVD iso?

Gimp is gone i dont use it. I hope they place
openShot as a video editor.

By the way, I never liked F-Spot because it automaticly imports picks from my devices.
Don touch my drive man!

I think it should not be attempted to get an image viewer and editor in one.
Eye of Gnome alway worked fine for me and you can use the sroll button to zoom in quickly into an area. Browsing forward and backward is a must-have. The rotation is also handy and a nice add-on would be that the picture is actually rotated by it like in XP.
But it must be quick and light weight, just for viewing and showing your photoś
Editing is a different area IMHO.
So one clicks right and picks "open with GIMP"
