Motorstorm Pacific Rift ~ Razorback Boost Explode Exploit

The main point of this video is to provide evidence of the boost-explode-respawn exploit to Evolution Studios.

But first I want to make it clear that this is in a custom room with friends. I don't really care what happens in a custom room, and I don't really know how people were playing before I joined. So don't go using this as "proof" of anyone being a cheater, I've had many good races with all of these guys. Had I known beforehand that this was going to be used to demonstrate the overboost exploit, I would have turned off the nametags.

I think it's pretty self-explanatory, but a few key times are:

At 0:54 you can "hear" the muffled silence of an explosion going off behind me. It's not enough to catch the shockwave effect, so he's a ways back, but at 0:57 respawns ahead of me, then at 1:14, having respawned with full boost, catches up.

At 3:17 you can see another exploit - boost exploding off the ramp above.

You can watch it happen all over again on the 2nd lap. The only reason I finished in 2nd is because those guys pretty much let me win.


P.S. guys I am still just a beginner with the car here, so don't judge my driving skills too harshly :)

No, the guy only overtook you at 1:14 because he was in a mudplugger and went straight through the river rather than getting slowed down like you did in the rally car. Although yes, this is an exploit, and is especially annoying when doen with... a monster truck.

Yeah I didn't drive it very well. But I have been in races driving the mudplugger which I know a little better, and have seen it used more effectively, and it is faster.

Nice going smrt ... but you know, and you demonstrate this here ... I don't even think it's faster LOL ... but yeah it would be good to have this patched up ... too many people exploit this online now :(

There is a much worse case scenario though, when you're within shockwave range and get punted into the abyss.

I think Riptide is even worse :(

Ah yes I see ... it's interesting to see that you must take that left route to do this ... I've never tried it and by the looks of things, never will haha ... won't need to, it's slower I think. Thanks again smrt, let's hope this is patched up soon. I didn't think that Riptide would be benefitial, but I've heard from Wayne that it could probably help the Monster Trucks.

It only works on the left route? I thought it did... but now I'm not sure. I haven't tried learning them myself either. hburg once said it's faster on another Razorback video of mine.

Probably more of a cheat with monster trucks on Riptide. I've seen people try it with the bike but I don't think it works too well :)

I completely agree with you. However, come to think of it. theres little that can be done. Sometimes it can spawn you right at the edge of the jump which is no good. So unless they spawn you really far back... its very hard to find a good spot.

This exploit works on the main ramp too Chris, and like Smrt says it's a bitch when someone does it within the shockwave range, you get put in the water and they get respawned over the other side. Custom rooms or not, this kind of thing pisses me right off.

I saw first hand how much the Riptide Monster Truck one benefits on Sunday, I won't mention any names 8-) but I had the perfect view and it eventually gained him a position ... needs to be fixed asap
