On Meaning: Amateur

This short video clip captures the fifth act of the performance On Meaning, performed by Jorge Lucero at The Pennsylvania State University in November of 2007. At this point Jorge was doing a karaoke rendition of The Smiths' Shoplifters of the World. The singing was facilitated by a portable microphone/ amp system that was strapped to the performers body. There were two projections on two separate walls in the performance space. On one video was a projection showing a re-cut of The Smiths original video for Shoplifters of the World and the second video was a portrait of Jorge singing inaudibly the chorus to John Lennon's Oh Yoko.
